Educating the next generation about taking care of animals is important to our mission. We offer a variety of programs for our young people to learn about and interact with our animals.
Is your child 16 or 17-years-old? If so, check out our volunteer opportunities!

Scout Badge Program

Animal Camps
Our camps give you people an up close and personal experience with the Louisiana SPCA and the animals in our care. With year-round camps available for a wide age range, you’re sure to find the right opportunity for your animal-loving camper!
Humane Education
Humane education reinforces character development skills such as kindness, compassion, empathy and responsibility. From caring for the family pet to taking action to prevent animal suffering, students become active participants in helping animals and others at an early age. Enhancing a student’s understanding that animals are living, feeling beings to be treated with respect and compassion is a very important lesson in empathy and respect for others.
