My 3 year old daughter and I lived in a home in Metairie, and there was a sweet neighborhood cat that we fed daily. He never showed interest in wanting to come in. After we moved, I returned to grab the mail and saw him looking rough. We made the decision for him to be an indoor only cat. It took some getting used to on his end, but 2-3 months later he was adjusting.
We decided he needed a friend. We looked around to find him the right pal. We needed someone who was good for him and good for my wild little 3 year old. We met with (at the time “Teton”) for a bit at the Louisiana SPCA, and we left. I was really thinking I wanted a female. However, a week later, I found myself still thinking about the little guy and how gentle he was and how pretty his eyes were, so I went and visited him again. After meeting with Teton again I knew he had to come home with us. He wasn’t bothered at all with my daughters loud screams or excitement. He played but without using his nails or teeth. He was perfect.
Meet Slator Rome(formerly Teton) and Mavi Joe (our neighborhood rescue). They truly have an inseparable bond now
Thank you to the Louisiana SPCA for the most perfect addition to our family!
