Mari, 32

**Outside Enthusiast
**Loose Leash Walking Professional
**Supportive Best Friend

Mari is a classy New Orleans mixed breed who loves to eat, play, and hang out with her favorite humans. Don't let the pictures fool you into thinking she's just a plain black dog - her coat has rich, brown highlights and a beautiful shine worthy of a Pantene Pro V commercial. She is also a low shedder!

Despite a rough start to her life, Mari is incredibly loyal and is quick to form a bond with those who show her love. She has become a staff (and foster) favorite with her wiggle butt and sweet demeanor. She is an extremely smart pup and is highly motivated to learn new tricks. She is currently learning commands like "sit," "come," "paw,", "kennel", and "aren't you so beautiful." Her foster mom says that Mari loves her training sessions and would thrive with a person or family who would like to learn with her.

Mari enjoys walks around the neighborhood and playing with her rope toy, but will quickly settle down next to you on the sofa or a fluffy dog bed to watch TV or keep you company if you work from home. She also likes riding in the car with you and would gladly keep you company wherever you go.

Mari is available for adoption at the Plaquemines Campus at 455 F. Edward Hebert Blvd in Belle Chasse. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm. For any questions, please call 504-934-6931 or email

In Louisiana, our pets are a part of our culture as much as anything else. And for more than 130 years, the Louisiana SPCA has been an advocate for all our furry friends across the state. Follow our Lead and show the characters of Louisiana you care by supporting the Louisiana SPCA.

The Louisiana SPCA helped more than 3,000 animals find their forever home in 2020.
