Animal Camps

Animal Camps

Our summer camp programs have concluded for 2020. Check back soon for 2021 dates!

Our camps will be action-packed and filled with fun educational activities hosted at our New Orleans campus. We believe that our activities including arts and crafts, interacting with the animals, hearing from guest speakers, and much more. These will allow our campers to learn about the role of the Louisiana SPCA in their community, and experience how to be ambassadors for Louisiana’s companion animals!

Animal Adventurers Camp (2nd-4th grade)

Animal Adventure Camp is a 1 week camp designed for children in grades 2nd through 4th. Campers will spend their day playing and learning all about animals! This camp is filled with fun experiences that will show campers how to play and interact with dogs, cats, and all sorts of other critters. There will be arts, crafts, and plenty of time with different furry, and maybe not so furry, friends!

Animal Ambassadors Camp (5th-7th grade)

Animal Ambassadors Camp is a 1 week camp designed for children in grades 5th through 7th grade who want to learn more about animals and how they can become animal advocates in their community. This camp will include daily activities that will educate campers on the basics of animal care, training, and why animals do the things they do. When camp is complete, they will be well on their way to becoming advocates for their community’s companion animals!

Humane education reinforces character development skills such as kindness, compassion, empathy and responsibility. From caring for the family pet to taking action to prevent animal suffering, students become active participants in helping animals and others at an early age. Enhancing a student’s understanding that animals are living, feeling beings to be treated with respect and compassion is a very important lesson in empathy and respect for others. Educating the next generation about taking care of animals is important to our mission.
